There has been much debate about peacocking in the PUA community as of late. Some feel that it has simply gone too far.

What started as one or two fun accessories that easily become conversation pieces has evolved into pickup artists that look like they got every piece of their clothing in Elton John’s reject bin. PUAs have been accused of copying Mystery when it has nothing to do with their “inner game”, profession and personality.

The debate comes down to the fact that your clothes must be congruent with your personality and how you strike sets when you first approach (first impression). If you feel gay in an outfit, you will appear gay to women! You have to be comfortable with what you are doing and like the skin you are in. Do what works for you.

I’ve heard of PUAs wearing regular joe attire in fancy clubs and getting great reactions. Women assume the guy is single (they like fixer-uppers) or that he is so confident that he doesn’t care. A friend of mine swears by wearing suits to the bars after work. He stands out because no one else is doing it. Since his buddies are in regular attire it makes it even more interesting to women.
